With this piece I tried to express a very strange event, that happened to me that summer. The style changes from big, pompous orchestral rock, to soft, flowing progrock and back again. More I can't say, just take a listen
In times of very depressive mood, I sometimes do a lot of composing and recording. This is one of those depressive pieces. a relatively popular sound, mixed with some progrock and not so good singing. Yet the idea and the instruments are fine.
It's really a songbird, for it browses through a few musical genres. Yet it is still a harmonic, soft piece. The saxophone in this track fits in nicely. A few people said, that it's lay-back music, or chillout. Whatever they say: it transports a lot of sun and summer.
the final episode of those "Strange Days". It takes up a few motives from the other three pieces and forms the conclusion of that album. It is a bit darker, than I planned, but still apropriate. the saxophone and the singing are of inferiour quality in parts and I still hope to improve this.
In those days I was influenced by a lot of metal again. but as you can hear, there's also some genesis in it. And again, as often found in my pieces, there's some Bach. It has a lovely ending
This violence got started by a spontaneous idea. I wanted to compose a clever, driving piece. That's the result. There are some rocks in it, but there's also a bit of baroque in it. A nice exciting, driving mixture.
In autumn 2001 we visited Erfurt. There we stayed some time on the Kraemerbruecke. The specialty of this bridge is, that there are houses on both sites. You can't see the river Gera anywhere from the bridge. There I meet a potter and came to experience the "Life on the Bridge". That was the inspiration for the whole album. Unfortunitely I only started recording the piece in 2001 and then dropped it for a long time. Then in July I visited the potter, to whom I promised the complete album, thus I finally did the recording. this is a complete rework of the original.
Although recorded in the bitterest time of winter, it really does contain a lot of sun and calmness. A simple instrumental piece, its only purpose is to be nice and quiet.
Mozart's birthday was a good occasion for a lot of radio stations to broadcast a lot of special programs. In one of those I heard an adaptation of Mozart's "Kleiner Nachtmusik" by Ekseption. I was of the definite conviction, that this piece needed a response. I hate Mozart! Thus I tried my hand at a Bach Adaptation of my own. This is it!
A simple piece, rather popular. My best friend played the guitar here.
Hippie Hearts was written for a hippie heart and a very nice one at that. It's again a roller-coaster through a few genres.
