History of my music (learning and listening)

I was fortunite enough to have parents, who listen to a lot of different music and beside there was always my brother with his taste and my grand parents. Very early in life my father introduced me to typical 60s and 70s music (the Mamas and the Papas, Pink Floyd, Van Morrison), as well as jazz (Eddie Harris and others) and 80s music (Talk Talk, Ten thousand Maniacs and others). My brother started out with German 80s music the "neue deutsche Welle", which was a very popular and senseless movement including Nena, Geier Sturzflug and more. But also a few French chansons were introduced to me. The parents of my father didn't listen to a lot of music, but I came to know a bit of european folklore (from Greece to Romania) through them. At my other grandparents' the radio was always babbling away with the typical house wives' station, meaning German schlager, chansons, and classical music. I myself joined in the hype for the 90s pop music, dance, techno, a bit of hip hop and I developed an honest linking towards Swedish pop music (ABBA, Roxette and Ace of Base). Then everything changed. A friend introduced me to metal, with a classical background (Symphony X) 70s progrock and artrock (Genesis, Gentle Giant and Yes) and 90s progrock (the Flowerkings, Spock's Beard). And last but not least, my own piano lessons introduced me to Johann Sebastian Bach, Edward Grieg and Bethoven.

My compositions

My own compositions are a mirror of the music I listen to. Comprising elements of baroque msuic, jazz, rock and pop, the best genre to put them in is progressive- or artrock. I started with purely popular pieces, when I was 13-14. In those days I only posessed a keyboard. Now my equipment has change a lot. I invested time and money and now I think it fullfills my requirements. Yet there is always something to add. :-) All my productions today are possible, because of my linux system. For more technical details, see my project webpage The Linux textbased studio. You can find examples of my compositions on the download page.

What I'm trying to offer

I'd like to see a few of these compositions published commercially. This is ot because I wanna be a rich lad. There are to reasons for it: 1. I think a few pieces might definitely be worth it and 2. I may be in need of a some money to go on. So if you think, that you'd like a demo-cd with a few more examples or if you are already convinced of what you heard so far, then let me know!
